Aims and Fit of Module
This module aims to:
• provide students with the opportunity to identify the way an entertainment proposition can be shaped and developed to become a legitimate venture
• enable students to understand how to set goals and strategies in order to achieve a positive outcome
• provide students with a level of mentorship when devising a business idea or proposition within the context of the creative and entertainment industries
Learning outcomes
A. Critically evaluate a creative proposition within an entertainment context
B. Create a business strategy for a creative idea
C. Present clear and concise findings that support the business research undertaken
Method of teaching and learning
Students will have a number of lectures to prepare for the business coaching with an industry professional. The mentoring will take place for half a day per week (3hrs) for an eight week period. This can be consecutive weeks or scheduled according to the project and availability of the business mentor.
The university will be responsible for finding the business mentor for each student.
