Water Resources Engineering 1

Module Title Water Resources Engineering 1
Module Level Level 2
Module Credits 2.50

Aims and Fit of Module

The module aims to introduce the fundamental surface and subsurface hydrologic processes and their association to water resources and supplies.

Learning outcomes

A.	Analyse the hydrologic cycle and its relation to the surface water and groundwater hydrologic processes.
B. Apply the most common models for the analysis of the rainfall-runoff characteristics of specific catchments.
C. Analyse groundwater flow phenomena and associated processes occurring in aquifers and flow into wells.
D. Relate the subsurface water processes to groundwater potentials for water resources.

Method of teaching and learning

The module is taught through formal lectures and class tutorials
