Aims and Fit of Module
This module will provide an in-depth look at achievement motivation in educational settings. It will introduce major theories of achievement motivation (e.g., expectancy-value theory, attribution theory, self-determination theory), the development of achievement motivation, methods for assessing student motivation, and various factors at the individual, social, and cultural level that may influence achievement motivation. Students will also learn about strategies to foster adaptive forms of achievement motivation.

Method of teaching and learning
The teaching sessions are interactive and divided into two components: lectures and tutorials/workshops. The tutorials/workshops will build on the material covered in the lectures.
