Aims and Fit of Module

The aims are to provide students advanced knowledge on the statistical theories and methods relevant to environmental sciences, enhance students’ understanding of statistical tests and models to facilitate research design and data analysis.

A Demonstrate a deep understanding of advanced statistical theories and methodology and critique statistical methods in peer reviewed articles

Method of teaching and learning

The module is delivered through a series of lectures, seminars, and computer-based practicals. The lectures provide statistical theories and models in environmental sciences. Computer-based practicals train the students with skills in modern statistical software. Seminars provide students with opportunities to apply these models to the real-world problems.
