Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to introduce students to the global digital revolutions which have emerged in the past quarter of a century and continue to impact contemporary societies and the nature, impact and issues arising as they relate to contemporary Chinese society.

Learning outcomes

A. Identify and interpret emerging digital technologies and their role in changing global industries and societies.

B. Categorize and critically evaluate the impact changing digital technologies have on media and telecommunications.

C. Appraise the specific effects relating to Chinese society brought about by the emergence of digital technologies.

D. Examine the critical issues affecting consumers, citizens and government brought about by digital technologies
