Aims and Fit of Module
This module focuses on the principles and practices that guide the management and control of organisations, ensuring accountability, transparency, and fairness in their operations. The aim of it is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, frameworks, and practices of corporate governance and strategy in both national and international contexts. It involves the understanding the roles and responsibilities of the key players in corporate governance, such as boards of directors, executives, and stakeholders in fostering ethical decision-making and promoting a culture of integrity. It also highlights the critical role that ethical behaviour plays in maintaining public trust, enhancing corporate reputation, and ensuring long-term sustainability. Key topics include corporate social responsibility (CSR), regulatory compliance, and the ethical challenges that arise in complex business environments. The module will equip students with both theoretical frameworks and practical tools to assess governance structures, evaluate ethical risks, and contribute to responsible business conduct.
