Aims and Fit of Module
The module will introduce students to the role of International Institutions and Organizations in global and regional governance. It provides an overview of theories, major issues and challenges concerning the nature and role of International Institutions in World Politics.
Learning outcomes
A. Identify the institutional framework (actors, mechanisms policies) of the contemporary International System.
B. Describe the role of Global and Regional Organizations in World Politics.
C. Analyze and contextualize main issues and controversies in Global Governance, and the role of International Institutions in addressing them.
D. Identify and analyze developments and limits of International Institutions and Organizations.
E. Apply core theories of International Relations to major institutional and organizational issues.
F. Conduct basic research tasks.
G. Develop analytical skills in presentations and academic writing.
