Aims and Fit of Module
This module is designed to enable students to further their quantitative and qualitative research skills by stimulating and exposing them to a number of advanced research methods available in the field of business and management. Students will also be required to critically evaluate a range of existing scholarly studies in terms of their methodological approach, limitations, and quality of findings.
Learning outcomes
A Decide which advanced quantitative and qualitative research methods to apply in a given business and management research project.
B Critically evaluate a range of advanced quantitative and qualitative research techniques as reported in extant literature.
C Evaluate, select and apply different software packages related to the research topic of interest and the type of analysis required.
D Have a critical appreciation and understanding of the different research methods that are available to them, and have the ability to use these methods where appropriate for their research.
Method of teaching and learning
This module will be taught using seminars and laboratory-based exercises.
