B Demonstrate originality in the application of knowledge, together with a practical understanding of established applied techniques of research and data analysis as used to interpret practice in the area.
C Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of how to evaluate methodologies and develop critiques of them and, where appropriate, propose new practices.
Method of teaching and learning
The learning and teaching takes a case-based and peer-assisted learning approach. Students are expected to familiarise themselves with the basic theory and to read and review the case studies prior to the weekend face to face sessions. To promote understanding of the key theories and of the key issues in the case studies, e-learning support is provided prior to each face-to-face session. E-learning support will also be provided prior to assignment submission to resolve queries about the application of theory. Students are encouraged to read widely with reference to the reading lists provided.
