Aims and Fit of Module

The aims of the module are to:
provide students with the knowledge, principles and theoretical frameworks relevant to entrepreneurship; introduce to the student current issues concerning entrepreneurship and small business;
support the development of subject specific and transferable skills necessary for future employment;
support the enhancement of skills in written and spoken communication.

Learning outcomes

A. acquire the knowledge of entrepreneurship and of small firm sectors and markets
B. have an understanding of the theories, concepts and empirical work that underpin entrepreneurship
C. develop a critical awareness of the multi-disciplinary aspects of entrepreneurship and small business development, and how these aspects have the potential to interact
D. develop a preliminary mindset how to start up a small business in a sustainable way regarding the triple bottom line
E. enhance students’ capabilities and skills of comprehensive market research and analysis
