Aims and Fit of Module
Translation often requires careful localisation and this can be a complex endeavour, requiring the active collaboration of multiple participants in order to produce a quality product. This module explains to students the process involved, describes some possible pitfalls and ways to avoid them, and offers guidance in creating a translation team, including the selection of a translation company or independent translators. It also touches on aspects such as translation and distribution formats, rates, tools, resources, and best practices that can contribute to a good outcome. Finally, the module includes sample checklists, guidelines and instruction sheets that can be customized for use in various stages of the translation process. Several translation and localization project cases are also demonstrated and practised in this module.

Method of teaching and learning
The teaching sessions are divided into two components (Lectures and Tutorials). The project management tool based interactive approach is adopted in class teaching.
