This module provides students with an introductory knowledge of corporate finance theory and investment decisions. It covers issues that financial managers and corporate decision makers are facing. The main objectives of this module hence rest in providing students with a sound understanding of: (i) the central aspects of financial decision making in corporations, (ii) how to evaluate firms, (iii) working capital management, and (iv) mergers and acquisition. It equips students with the necessary skills to apply corporate finance methods to real-world problems
Learning outcomes 
A. Have a sound understanding of important decisions that financial managers make concerning corporate finance.

B. Demonstrate understanding of the methods and techniques that financial managers use in decision making.

C. Appreciate the framework in which financial issues and problems are presented, providing a foundation for appropriate analysis.

Method of teaching and learning 
Lectures: Student will be exposed to theoretical knowledge and corresponding real-life examples of corporate finance during lectures. Tutorials: In addition to lectures, students will also take part in guided independent study, which will be discussed in tutorials. In these sessions, students will be asked to reflect on the theory learnt in lectures and apply their knowledge to practical cases.
