Aims and Fit of Module

This module supports students to develop transferable skills in their desired industry. The module will cover both theoretical and practical aspects in highly desired transferable skills on the current job market. Through sharing ‘good practices’ and underlying guiding principles on developing these skills, the module aims to equip students with necessary qualities and personal attributes that can enable them to build competitive edge against workplace challenges, prepare for campus-career transition, and achieve development in their chosen occupations at the start and in the following career journey.

Learning outcomes

A. have a deeper understanding of talent demand by employers under current economic climate, especially desirable transferable skills. 

B. identify their strengths and weaknesses against an employable profile. 

C. understand learning and development theories and techniques that would help them to achieve life-long developmental goals and keep up with the job-market trend. 

D. map out their developmental needs and devise actions. 

E. be able to use self-management skills to facilitate career development and handle possible workplace challenges.

Method of teaching and learning

Attending on-site seminar-based classroom interactions, alongside with CWs enabled by LMS.
