Aims
This module provides an introduction to the range, contents, and genres of Chinese literature from ancient times to the Qing dynasty.
Learning outcomes 
A Have a clear understanding of the depth and breadth of the Chinese literary tradition

B Understand the processes of literary evolution in Chinese writing

C Be aware of the principle debates in the academic literature about Chinese literature and the role of the literatus in Chinese society

D Be beginning to develop an ability to undertake textual analysis of Chinese literature

E Establish the basis for further study of Chinese literature
