Aims and Fit of Module

This module is designed to provide all international students enrolled for degree programmes at XJTLU with an introductory understanding of Chinese Culture and Society in order to help them have some background for studying, living, and working in China.

A	Basic understanding of Chinese historical development

B	Appreciation of Chinese values and philosophy

C	Basic knowledge of China’s legal system and the operation of the law

D	Basic knowledge of the Chinese system of government

E	Basic understanding of Chinese social structures

F	Understanding of China’s regional diversity 

G	Basic knowledge of China’s economic development

H	Appreciation of Chinese literature 

Method of teaching and learning

The module will be delivered through a series of weekly lectures.
