Aims
To equip students with theories and knowledge required to address important issues in neighbourhood planning


• To develop a student’s appreciation of the importance of planning at the neighbourhood scale for a diverse society


• To enable students to employ basic research and planning methods at the neighborhood scale

Syllabus 
Block A: Neighbourhoods in transition: Introduction to neighbourhood planning, history, neighbourhood change and neighbourhood regeneration


Block B: Planning for Inclusive society: gated community, age-friendly community, planning for a multi-cultural society


Block C: Accessible neighbourhoods: key principles, process, providing for local need


Block D: skills for neighbourhood planning: spatial analysis, survey design, community participatory planning methods
