Aims
The Module aims to enable students and readers get familiar with ancient Chinese language step by step by learning and reading classical Chinese, learn some necessary knowledge and skills favorable for reading ancient Chinese, and understand the development of Chinese language, literature and philosophy in the past two thousand years from the historical perspective and their influence on contemporary society.

Method of teaching and learning 
The method of teaching and learning this module is develop students’ interest on classical Chinese on the basis of understanding these literature, encourage students think independently and can explore by themselves afterwards, encourage students study and apply creatively and avoid learning by rote, help them grasp basic knowledge of ancient Chinese and could understand and appreciate the contents and culture behind the classics.
