Aims and Fit of Module
This module will provide a theoretical and practical introduction to animation using a variety of techniques, including cut out, plasticine, pixilation, and the use of software packages. Some of the techniques that are introduced include flipbook, clay, collage, and drawing from the model, to introduce students to the history and development of animation.
Learning outcomes
A. compare and contrast the history and theory of animation in China and Western countries
B. apply some of the key animation techniques and demonstrate their learning through practice
C. produce a basic animated short film
