Aims and Fit of Module
This module will engage students in the study and practice of film and television editing and post-production. Students will develop an understanding of post-production workflows and of digital delivery requirements and standards. Students will also examine the historical and theoretical contexts of post-production as well as explore in depth key post-production software and practices through the production of individual practical project work.
Learning outcomes
A demonstrate the ability to critically analyse examples of film and television editing through drawing on critical and theoretical texts;
B understand the histories, conventions and styles of film and television editing;
C undertake a post-production practical project.
Method of teaching and learning
Lectures and practical hands-on workshops in media editing labs.
