Aims and Fit of Module

This module will introduce the student to both the domains of policy making in general and health policy making in particular. We will examine the predominant state and international, public-private and multilateral stakeholders of health policy and the ways in which health and well-being policies are implemented.

Learning outcomes

A	Identify and evaluate the rational policy model.
B Identify how policy making is a political process.
C Discuss how power is embedded in policy-making.
D Employ a stakeholder analysis and describe the value of stakeholder agendas.
E List the challenges in appropriate health care policy-making and implementation.
