Module Title Methods for Analysing Public Health V: Biostatistics II
Module Level Level 2
Module Credits 5.00

Aims and Fit of Module

The aim of this module is to guide students in the theory and techniques of regression. Students will learn how to specify regression models, use statistical software to fit models, interpret coefficients and investigate model design. Students will learn special techniques in modeling including the use of dummy variables and multivariable adjustment.

Learning outcomes

A	Examine the concepts of regression and their applications in public health.
B Distinguish between regression models appropriate to the demands of a given public health context..
C Employ an accurate and effective interpretation of analysis arising from regression models..
D Demonstrate familiarity with use of a modern statistical software package (Stata) for building and testing statistical models. .
