Aims and Fit of Module

This course will synthesise the knowledge the student has accumulated throughout the BSc in Public Health programme with application toward “real world” health care challenges.

Learning outcomes

A	Judge how best to prioritise health care needs in a given situation. 
B Determine the best use of available resources and the best means for securing other resources in a population health intervention.
C Devise how to engage with stakeholders in a given interventional context.
D Employ monitoring and evaluation for a population health intervention.
E Appropriately design a population health intervention.

Method of teaching and learning

Lecture, laboratory, discussion and fieldwork. Students will be divided into small groups in which each student will collaborate on designing and implementing a public health intervention. Each student in each group will have an opportunity to carry out all of the various roles designed for the intervention. Students will then evaluate and offer recommendations to improve their team's intervention.
