Aims and Fit of Module

This module builds on the introductory skills, knowledge and understanding learnt in COM 141 Inserts Production in semester 1and COM130, Studio roles and responsibilities. Students will undertake roles in the delivery of a series of short, highly formatted, multi-camera production. Working in groups, students will research, plan, script and produce ‘content’ within the confines of a predetermined programme outline.

Learning outcomes

A	develop and research programme content that is appropriate to an existing factual programme outline.

B	plan and deliver regular short episodes of a formatted factual programme, both as individual operators and as part of a large groups

C	Critically reflect on their programme content and how the nature of that content impacts on audiences

Method of teaching and learning

Students will learn to develop, research and plan programme content in the seminar sessions.  They will then take it across to the television studio for practical implementation.  Thus, they will be taught using the following methods:
