The aim of this module is to give students a better insight in creative processes for design. Students will be introduced to theoretical notions about creativity and will explore these in several exercises. Widening their skills in these area’s will give students a better way of dealing with design problems that have a more ambiguous nature, and help them to develop a more individual approach towards design. As such it also helps to prepare students for their Final Year Project.

Method of teaching and learning 
The module is delivered in a seminar/tutorial style with design studio characteristics. It involves individual and teamwork (if student numbers permit).
The key notion that students are introduced to, and which students are encouraged to reflect upon in this module is creativity. Students will be introduced to theoretical readings about creativity. They will also work on creative processes on the border of applied and non-applied design. This will help them in understanding how to make sense of a range of intended and unintended design process outcomes. Students will iterate, select and develop ideas and concepts, and learn to present them in a visually and textually convincing way.
