Aims
This module aims to examine the relationship between international politics and development strategies across African countries. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary introduction to the politics of development, allowing students to develop an analytical and critical understanding about development trends and intervention policies in the context of African countries.
Learning outcomes 
A. Analyze past and present developmental trajectories, policies and their impact across African countries.

B. Identify and understand different theories of development and critically engage with them.

C. Identify and critically analyze the social, economic and political contexts surrounding African countries’ development at both regional and global levels.

D. Identify the drivers of policy changes and the role of states, private, and non-state actors in development trajectories.

E. Navigate development data and datasets, and use them in empirical analyses and assessments.

F. Develop teamwork skills
