Method of teaching and learning
Students will spend a semester of study at a university and on a program nominated by XJTLU.

Choice of university and country will be determined by the student’s agreed Final Year Project focus.

During this semester they will be required to attend and participate in the equivalent of four XJTLU modules, all approved in advance by XJTLU related to their subject of study.

They will be required to complete all formative assignments of the host institutions’ modules/classes on a pass/fail basis and are required to pass.

Instead of summative assessments they will be required to write three final essays and produce a reflective report on their international experience.

These summative assessments will be the marks used to calculate student performance for the Semester of International Experience.

Syllabus
During the Semester of International Experience, students will attend an XJTLU partner university to attend classes and receive supervision (and less formal assistance) related to the subject of study of their Final Year Project.

Choice of university and modules will be approved in advance through discussion with and approval by XJTLU.

Students are required to complete all formative assignments alongside host institution students.

Final summative assignments will be replaced by four major pieces of writing, assessed by XJTLU staff:

1. A report on the city and the country in which they are based, analyzing its socio-economic dynamics, culture, and politics;

2. An essay on relations between the country in which they are based and China;

3. A report on the worldview of the country in which they are based;

4. A reflective essay on their personal experience during the semester of International Experience.
