Aims and Fit of Module

The module provides students with a basic understanding of different concepts and approaches to international relations and international affairs, introducing them to the most important actors in international politics, and familiarising them with some major issues in contemporary international relations.

Learning outcomes

A. Identify basic theories of international relations and apply them to explain and understand events, trends and phenomena of international relations and international politics. 


B. Identify the main actors and most important recent developments in international relations and international politics.


C. Use appropriate research skills.


D. Produce academic writing which is appropriate for the discipline.
