Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to raise students’ awareness of global cultures, develop their skills for intercultural communication and learning in an international university, and enable them to understand and analyse intercultural issues from theoretical perspectives.

Learning outcomes

A. Demonstrate a basic understanding of key concepts and issues related to intercultural communication.

B. Demonstrate self-awareness, awareness of other global cultures, and reflection when interacting across cultures.

C. Demonstrate the skills necessary to successfully engage in an intercultural experience.

D. Demonstrate the skills of understanding and analyzing intercultural issues from some theoretical perspectives.

Method of teaching and learning

Seminars will take an interactive and engaging approach, maximizing the use of learning technologies and flexible learning spaces where possible. Seminars will be supplemented by regularly assigned out of class activities.
