Aims
This module aims to introduce students who have had little or no marketing education to key theoretical marketing concepts and to basic aspects of applied marketing practice, within a management context. This module provides a foundation level appreciation of marketing philosophy as a management approach within a changing business environment and develops a student’s ability to recognise and evaluate marketing models and tools used in applied marketing management activities. It is designed for students working across all programs within the cognate areas of business and management. It also provides essential underpinnings knowledge for students on named undergraduate marketing programs, to support successive marketing modules in their curricula.
Learning outcomes 
A Understand major concepts and problems for marketing functions in modern enterprises.


B Understand the essential processes and tasks in marketing management (e.g. analyzing marketing opportunities, product decisions, distribution decisions, promotion decisions, and pricing decisions).


C Demonstrate comprehension and application of marketing theories to physical and virtual environments, various organisational contexts and cultures.
