Aims and Fit of Module
This module aims to equip students linguistically and culturally to communicate successfully in Spanish, and help them to meet the requirements for CEFR B1- equivalence.
Learning outcomes
A understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.
B deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken
C produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest
D write very simple personal letters to thank or to invite someone.
Method of teaching and learning
Communicative language teaching involves a high level of interaction between teacher and students. Teaching and assessment will revolve around the setting and completion of specified language tasks.
This module includes 3 seminar hours for 12 weeks, plus 2 hours lectures in weeks 5 and another 2 in week 9. Students will have 60 hours of self-study to support their learnings.
In order to submit their coursework tasks, the students must attend at least 8 weeks of seminars hours out of the 12 total weeks.
