By conducting research and producing analytic drawings and models about architectural objects the students get familiar with the basic representational language of architecture and with the basic communication skills used by architects including reading and generating orthographic projections, physical models and text-based descriptions about architecture. Students learn to study and recognise architectural concepts and their representation in buildings and architectural objects, as well as their representations in drawings and models.
A. Recognise and reproduce basic methods and techniques in visual and written communication in architecture.
The module will be taught mainly through lectures. The students train their skills through practicing during private studies. The students are expected to conduct their own studies and research on architectural projects. The students get feedback through in class critical review of selected course work.
Some sessions on this module with be delivered by Language Centre tutors, with the aim of assisting students with language/study skills requirements for the module. Students will also be provided with online language/study skills support to help them engage with module content.
