Aims and Fit of Module

By conducting research and producing analytic drawings and models about architectural objects the students get familiar with the basic representational language of architecture and with the basic communication skills used by architects including reading and generating orthographic projections, physical models and text-based descriptions about architecture. Students learn to study and recognise architectural concepts and their representation in buildings and architectural objects, as well as their representations in drawings and models.

Learning outcomes

A. Recognise and reproduce basic methods and techniques in visual and written communication in architecture.

Method of teaching and learning

 The module will be delivered in Online mode.  The Module will be taught mainly through lectures.  The students train their skills through practicing during private studies.  The students are expected to conduct their own studies and research on architectural projects.  Students will get feedback through a critical review of selected coursework.  Some sessions of this module will be taught by tutors from the Language Centre to assist students with the language/study skills requirements for the module. Students will also be provided with Online language/study skills support to help them engage with the module content
