Aims and Fit of Module

The main aim of this module is to equip students with an understanding of basic thermodynamics and kinetics.

Learning outcomes

Students who complete this module successfully will be able to A. explain basic ideas of energy changes in chemical reactions B. discuss ideas relating to the rates of chemical reactions

Method of teaching and learning

The module consists of 13 hours of lectures, which are blended with 12 hours of problem-solving tutorials and 12 hours of laboratory experiments, including 4 experiments.
