Aims and Fit of Module

• To introduce students to pre-production, production and post-production processes.
• To enable students to learn both artistic expression and the technical skills of using audio and video equipment and software tools through hands-on practice.
• To develop valuable technical details pertaining to audio and video technologies.
• To introduce the process of production in short form.

Learning outcomes

A understand the nature of pre-production, production, and post-production work.
B apply a practical knowledge and skills for all aspects of video production.
C apply the theoretical knowledge gained during the course through practical experience and demonstrate this by making a short video.

Method of teaching and learning

The teaching sessions are divided into lectures and practical sessions, including camera and sound recording as well as editing sessions. A series of practical sessions explore the various production techniques and the use of equipment to teach skills in camera work, sound recording and editing. Students will work both individually and in independent small groups to develop and produce their media projects.
