The aim of this module is to provide the student with an integrated understanding of the basic anatomy and physiology of the human body via a systems approach. This module will present the form and structure of the human body and the normal functioning of bodily processes.
A Identify the structure and function of human cells, tissues, organs and systems.
B Describe the normal structure and functioning of the human body with appropriate terminology.
C Recognise and explain the interrelationships within and between anatomical and physiological systems of the human body
The syllabus will be delivered through lectures and laboratory sessions. Relevant material will be made available through ICE. Learning will be supported by textbook readings and specific library resources. A feature of this class is the use of the Anatomedia software. In addition, visits to dissection laboratories in local medical schools are planned.
