Aims and Fit of Module

This course will introduce the student to the foundational concepts of International and Global health in order to prepare the student to understand the public health needs of populations in low-income countries and the structure of health at the global level of analysis.

Learning outcomes

A Distinguish between the perspectives of public health in domestic settings from those in international and global health settings.
B Evaluate public health issues by examining different levels of analysis simultaneously.
C. Determine the health challenges of vulnerable populations.
D. Investigate key global health actors.

Method of teaching and learning

Lectures discussions, as well as debates will be utilised. Videos will also be introduced as needed.
