Aims and Fit of Module

This module will provide the student with an in-depth understanding of the causes of inequality and the outcomes of inequality on population health.

Learning outcomes

A Distinguish between inequality and inequity and determine why this distinction is important to health.
B Appraise how inequality and social stratification can affect social cohesion and health.
C Critically judge how economic systems, such as neoliberalism, can affect health care and population health.
D Examine how inequality can affect multiple determinants of health.
