The aim of this Year 1 module is to provide students in BSc Economics and BSc Economics and Finance with an overview of the field of study before they engage with modules related to methodology and theory. The module exposes students to the relevance of the fields of economics and finance through discussions on the key questions they help society to solve. At the same time, the module provides students with a roadmap of all the knowledge they will be exposed to in the next three years.

A variety of teaching and learning techniques will be employed in the delivery of this course, with the aim of creating an interactive learning environment. These will include online real-time games, in-class games, and real-time activities, all of which are linked to key concepts in economics and finance.
