This module will build on the study of game theory to show how its solution concepts can be applied to real world situations. Models will be considered for a range of situations in which outcomes depend not only on the actions of the individual but also on strategic interactions.
A. Formulate games and solution concepts from game theory.
B. Analyze and solve simple games in the appropriate framework.
C. Solve continuous strategy and multi-period games.
D. Identify, apply and elaborate on the most appropriate type of game in a particular context.
E. Apply and evaluate critically game theory tools in the business, economics and political contexts and in experiments.
This module will be taught using a combination of lectures and tutorials. Lectures are designed as the focal point of the week. Tutorials provide an opportunity to discuss some of the contents of the module and additional reading materials.
