Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills for curriculum design, curriculum development and evaluation, in an internationalized context, and to develop students’ understanding of the curriculum implemented in different programs and schools.

Method of teaching and learning

This module will be delivered by a combination of lectures, tutorials, workshops and placements. Lectures will be designed to provide essential information, while tutorials and workshops will be designed for reflection on and practice of the information. Lectures, tutorials and workshops will be scheduled in a blended learning format, including asynchronous online sessions. Students will work with the mentor from the school during their placements, focusing on the mutually agreed topics in the module. The placement will involve classroom observation with the focus on fundamental aspects of curriculum design and development, participation in professional learning community at the school, test of designed/modified curriculum in classroom.
