Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to provide students with essential quantitative analysis skills that can be applied to various business, financial, and economic contexts. This module equips students skills in financial data analysis, econometrics, and introductory asset pricing models. Students can acquire practical skills in using statistical analysis packages to process, analyze, and interpret business data. The focus on the module will be on time-series and panel data analysis, as well as the application of basic asset pricing models.

Learning outcomes

A Analyzing business data using statistical analysis packages, and perform basic data manipulation tasks. B Use time-series and panel data analysis techniques to identify trends and patterns in business data. C Apply statistical analysis tools to conduct exploratory data analysis and generate professional graphs and tables. D Understand the basics of asset pricing models and apply them to real-world financial data. E Understand asset pricing anomalies and implement basic long-short investment strategies.
