Aims and Fit of Module

This module introduces the principles of visual aesthetics and how they are applied in the context of visual communication design. Moreover, the students will learn form a series of exercises to practice design methods and techniques in visual communication. The aim of the module is to establish a solid foundation in the students’ appreciation of visual aesthetics and basic design methods to achieve visually-attractive output. At the principle level, this fundamental module will have a broad impact on their subsequent learnings and practices in later creative modules. At the practical level, the learnt methods and design process will provide the structural guide and workflow to systematically plan and develop a visual communication project.
