Aims and Fit of Module

The aim of the module is to provide students with an understanding what is supply chain finance and how can firms use supply chain finance to address the financial problems.
The module covers an extensive range of subjects, including supply chain structure and financial processes, working capital management, supply chain finance for cost optimization, supply chain finance instrument and supply chain finance innovation.
The module enables student to: (i) understand the role of supply chain finance in supply chain management, (ii) understand theories and experiences of supply chain finance, and (iii) gain an introductory understanding of the principles of supply chain finance.

Method of teaching and learning

Formal lectures including the use of labs/tutorials to enable the appreciation of thoretical aspects of supply chain finance and the ability to use the relevant soft and hard tools.
