This module aims to teach students basic presentation skills for design communication. These skills are related to the development and practice of visualization and visual communication techniques for different media, and purposes. In a discipline that facilitates interactions between humans and their environment, visual communication skills play a crucial role in most design processes.
A. Visually organise text and images to tell a story
B. Interpret basic information design principles
C. Apply (a combination of) hand and computer drawing to develop a realistic looking visualisation
D. Make and present a drawing showing the construction of an object or layout
This module is delivered through lectures, demonstrations, guided and independent practices. Students will work in groups and individually on exercises and assignments to help them developing specific visual communication skills. The course will be delivered in the first half of semester 2, which for this 2.5 credit module means that student will take two classes a week.
