Aims and Fit of Module

The aim of this course is to introduce students to transdisciplinary knowledge through approaching engineering fundamentals. The focus of the material taught is on the engineering design applications for undergraduate students.

Learning outcomes

A. Identify fundamental principles of electrical/electronic components.
B. Illustrate electrical/electronics related product functionalities by technical specification.
C. Test and disassemble a consumer electrical/electronic product and identify specific design functions.
D. Integrate multiple aspects of engineering electronics, prototyping skills, and physical variable measurement to design effective products
E. Develop sensor-based design applications.

Method of teaching and learning

The material in this module is delivered through a combination of formal lectures, tutorials and practical sessions.
