The module aims to develop academic reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills, as well as critical thinking ability, through participation in a variety of onsite and self-study activities provided by the English Language Centre.

The module will be offered in both Semester 1 and Semester 2 of an academic year. There will be three types of teaching activities (subject to change): 1. Lectures: 1 2-hour lecture for 12 weeks. Students will attend the lectures online. 2. Speaking clinics: 1 1-hour session for 12-13 weeks. Students will attend the speaking clinic sessions onsite. 3. eALAs: at least 1 ALA hour for completion of 1 eALA unit on Learning Mall through self-study
