Aims and Fit of Module

This module aims to develop students’ general understanding of entrepreneurship in the setting of glocalisation. With a series of relevant scenarios such as business opportunity identification, market research, team formation and networking, product and business planning, and market entry strategy selection, students will be encouraged to comprehensively engage with the typical challenges of entrepreneurship in a classroom environment and develop solutions to address them in a digital glocalisation context. The module also supports the development of students’ English communication skills through engagement with entrepreneurial cases and scenarios, fostering language use in realistic contexts.

A Identify and describe the typical challenges and issues related to entrepreneurship B Evaluate and illustrate the contextual factors such as glocalisation and digital transformation and their impacts on entrepreneurial actions C Develop and communicate practical solutions to real-world problems by collaborating within interdisciplinary teams. D Demonstrate effective English communication skills (written and oral) in entrepreneurial contexts.

Method of teaching and learning

Lectures: Lectures will provide foundational knowledge on entrepreneurship in the setting of glocalisation. Students will be prompted to engage actively with in-depth exploration of key topics aligned with the lectures and further encouraged to think about the key aspects entrepreneurial glocalisation. Staff from IBSS will deliver the lectures. Seminars: Students will engage with the textbook and additional materials for developing the language skills and consider the key aspects of entrepreneurial glocalisation, and participate in guided discussions and other interactive activities to develop effective English communication skills. Approaches such as mini project will be adopted to foster a collaborative learning environment, promoting critical thinking. Staff from ALC will deliver the seminars.
