This module aims to equip students linguistically and culturally to communicate in Spanish, and help them to meet the requirements for CEFR A1- equivalence.
A. Understand and use daily expressions and very basic phrases designed to satisfy needs of a concrete type at Level A1-.
B. Demonstrate spoken communications skills at level A1-
C. Demonstrate comprehension of suitable texts at Level A1-.
D. Produce suitable texts on familiar topics, using vocabulary and grammar structures at Level A1-.
E. Demonstrate very basic knowledge and understanding of the culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
Communicative language teaching involves a high level of interaction between teacher and students. Teaching and assessment will revolve around the setting and completion of specified language tasks.
This module includes 3 seminar hours for 12 weeks, plus 2 hours lectures in weeks 5 and another 2 in week 9. Students will have 60 hours of self-study to support their learnings.
In order to submit their coursework tasks, the students must attend at least 8 weeks of seminars hours out of the 12 total weeks.
