This module aims to equip students linguistically and culturally to communicate successfully in Spanish, and help them to meet the requirements for CEFR B1+ equivalence.
A take part in routine formal discussion of familiar subjects which is conducted in clearly articulated speech in a familiar dialect and which involves the exchange of factual information, receiving instructions or the discussion of the solutions to practical problems.
B follow much of what is said related to his/her field, provided interlocutors avoid very idiomatic usage and articulate clearly.
C read straightforward factual texts on subjects related to his/her field and interest with a satisfactory level of comprehension.
D write short, simple essays on topics of interest. Can summarize report and give his/her opinion about accumulated factual information on familiar routine and non-routine matters within his/her field with some confidence.
Communicative language teaching involves a high level of interaction between teacher and students. Teaching and assessment will revolve around the setting and completion of specified language tasks.
This module includes 3 seminar hours for 12 weeks, plus 2 hours lectures in weeks 5 and another 2 in week 9. Students will have 60 hours of self-study to support their learnings.
In order to submit their coursework tasks, the students must attend at least 8 weeks of seminars hours out of the 12 total weeks.
