Learning outcomes

A. Apply fundamental physics and its applications in the process of engineering design, such as Newton's laws, work and energy, momentum, degree of freedom of rigid body, and vibrations. B. Discuss sustainability in engineering projects, and the concept of Conceiving, Designing, Implementing, and Operating (CDIO) real-world systems. C. Explain the basics of engineering ethics, equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in design practices. D. Apply communication and management skills within a team and as individuals.

Method of teaching and learning

The module is delivered through formal lectures, tutorials and practicals. Students may be provided with language/study skills support from the English Language Centre (ELC) to help them engage with module content.
